Job summary

Job Summary

The post holder will work in the Cellular Pathology office providing clerical and administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the Cellular Pathology Department. Undertaking general clerical duties, which include data entry of patient details and result entry on the departments' specialist software systems, using audio equipment. They will be required toliaise with all grades of staff within the department and to communicate with external users of the service. They will need to work in line with the Trust and Departmental policies and procedures.

Main duties of the job

We require a well-motivated, typist used to multi-tasking, to join our small team in the Cellular Pathology office. You need to be able to work to tight schedules and as part of a team.

Applicants should have word processing and touch and audio typing experience, experience of medical terminology, knowledge of Winpath and CRS software would be an advantage. A good command of the English language and spelling is essential. Applicants should be used to accurate, numerical filing, and possess a pleasant telephone manner

Duties include: patient data entry and typing of clinical letters, material retrieval for sending for referrals, filing and dealing with telephone enquiries, support the clinical and managerial team with administrative tasks.
