Job summary

An integrated finance function across Hounslow & Richmond Community Healthcare (HRCH) and Kingston Hospital Foundation Trust (KHFT) following a restructure has resulted in 4 Full time and 1 Part time Management Accountant opportunities available in the Financial Management team. We welcome applications from graduates, other applicants either studying or wanting to study towards an accountancy qualification.

The post holders will be responsible for the accurate and timely production of management accounts as per monthly deadlines. They will be expected to produce high quality financial reports, analysis, explain variances and trends.

Pro-actively seek ways to improve monthly reporting processes, sharing practice and challenging status quo by working collaboratively across the financial management team and the wider finance team. The role requires applicants to cover all aspects of the Job description across KHFT and HRCH.

The post holders will ensure that the Finance Business Partners are made aware of the monthly journals with associated backing papers and any invoices raised in a timely manner.

The role will provide you exposure to all the aspects of financial management for your development. A study support will be provided using the apprenticeship scheme.

Main duties of the job

To play a key role in the production of monthly divisional management accounts and financial reports in accordance with the Trust's agreed timetable, departmental policies and procedures.

To assist the Finance Business Partners with production of monthly reports that show key financial performance indicators. Investigate variances from plan, summarise and report on these in monthly reports for the Finance Business Partners. Ensure that effective monitoring processes are maintained to minimise variances.

To support Budget Holders by analysing trends, identifying potential and actual variances through enhanced reporting techniques.

Responsible for preparation of backing and input to the finance system for journals, budget virements, invoices ensuring the completeness and accuracy.

Respond to budget holder queries directly and on behalf of senior members of the team by investigating transactions, validating payroll and gain information for invoices to be raised when required. Give appropriate and timely responses through email, phone or in meetings.

Support communication between budget holders and other departments. Encourage budget holders to follow processes and procedures in place.

Flexible and part time working is supported. These roles will be based at Thames House in Teddington, but the role offers agile working arrangements, with approximately 50% office based and 50% working from home. May require to travel to other sites, including Kingston Hospital.
