Job summary

Job Overview Havering CAMHS is seeking a Psychological Professions Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team delivering assessment and evidence-based interventions to children, young people and families presenting with moderate to severe mental health difficulties. This role forms part of our ongoing CAMHS Transformation Programme and offers the opportunity to contribute to a modern, pathway-based service focused on delivering the right intervention at the right time. The successful applicant will provide formulation-driven interventions in line with their professional training and competence whilst working flexibly across CAMHS pathways according to clinical need and service demand. The post holder will contribute to core CAMHS functions including assessment, referral screening, duty clinician work, MDT discussions and therapeutic intervention. We welcome applications from practitioners whose qualifications align with the CAMHS Qualifications and Competency Framework for Band 6 roles.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job Deliver structured, time-limited psychological therapy interventions (typically 612 sessions) for children and young people Manage a defined caseload, maintaining: Clear therapeutic goals Regular review points Planned endings Undertake clinical assessment and risk management in line with CAMHS protocols Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussions, contributing to formulation-driven care and appropriate allocation of cases Contribute to timely patient flow, including discharge planning and reducing waiting times Participate in core CAMHS duties, including: Routine assessments Duty clinician rota Screening and triage of referrals Work collaboratively with partner agencies including education, social care, and primary care Contribute to service development, audit, and quality improvement activity

Whilst this is a generic Psychological Professions Practitioner role, we are particularly interested in hearing from applicants with experience, training or a strong interest in:

• Arts Therapies • Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT-A) • Structured, time-limited psychological interventions • Working with depression, emotional difficulties and complex presentations in children and young people

These areas reflect current service development priorities and existing gaps within our wider psychotherapy offer.

Main duties of the job

 

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Goodmayes Hospital.

Probationary Period This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High Cost Area Supplement – Outer London (B&D, Redbridge, Havering and Waltham Forest, Goodmayes) This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,870 to a maximum of £6,137 p.a. pro rata for part time).
