Job summary

We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic person to join the Dermatology team as a Patient Pathway Officer. We are a busy, friendly, supportive team looking for excellent communicators, who are able to demonstrate and promote high levels of customer care.

Experience in using the following hospital administration systems is preferred but training can be given -

  • ACP
  • Lorenzo

To deliver an efficient and effective appointment scheduling and outcome service to the Dermatology team, keeping up-to-date and accurate computer recorded information on the status of patients.

Support the Dermatology coordinators, clinical team, and other divisional managers in ensuring the specialty are able to deliver safe and effective services whilst also ensuring compliance with contractual access targets e.g. Cancer and RTT targets.

Main duties of the job

You role will be to deliver an efficient and effective appointment scheduling and outcome service to the Dermatology team, keeping up-to-date and accurate computer recorded information on the status of patients.

You will support the Dermatology coordinators, clinical team, and other divisional managers in ensuring the specialty are able to deliver safe and effective services whilst also ensuring compliance with contractual access targets e.g. Cancer and RTT targets.

Your role will involve interpreting the clinical information from test requests according to protocol and taking responsibility for booking appropriate appointments, communicating rejection of inappropriate requests to requesting Consultants according to published guidance and to monitor demand and wait times, identify potential breaches and escalate to Dermatology coordinators.
