Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Clinical Fellow to join the Gynaecology Department at St Michael's Hospital, part of the University Hospitals Bristol & Weston NHS Foundation Trust. Both posts include full shift on-call rota (3rd on call), including Obstetrics and Emergency Gynaecology cover. This means all applicants should be ready to start ST6 at the time of the post-commencing. The post-holder would have the opportunity to join the team and take up one of the following roles: Fellow in Paediatric & Adolescent Gynaecology (PAG) and Menopause Care OR Fellow in Paediatric & Adolescent Gynaecology (PAG) and Endometriosis.
Main duties of the job
Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric & Adolescent Gynaecology (PAG) and Menopause Care
Attendance at PAG clinics (Mondays) and Menopause clinics (Fridays)
Co-ordination of the monthly PAG and Menopause MDTs
The fellow will have the opportunity to lead a Quality Improvement project aimed at enhancing care for patients with Primary Ovarian Insufficiency (POI).
Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric & Adolescent Gynaecology (PAG) and Endometriosis
Attendance at PAG and Endometriosis clinics
Attendance at Endometriosis Clinics
Training in specialist endometriosis ultrasound
Exposure to theatre lists for excision of deep-infiltrating endometriosis, including rectovaginal disease - both laparoscopic and robotic
Co-ordination of bimonthly endometriosis MDTs
The fellow will have the opportunity to lead a research or quality improvement project, the nature of which will depend on the interests of the appointed individual

Essential
- Registration with GMC
- MBBS or equivalent GMC recognised
- MRCOG (A) Worked in the UK previously at >/= ST5 level O&G
Desirable
- Previous research experience/ publications
- Demostrate an active interest in PAG or Menopause care or Endometriosis
- If interested in PAG/Menopause role then to already be registered and progressing with Menopause SITM
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Good (English Language) communication skills
- Experience of working at ST5 or above within the United Kingdom
- Information technology skills
- Understanding of the principles of Clinical Governance, adherence to/promotion of CNST standards
- Experience of small and large group teaching
- Understand principles of audit and completed audit projects
- Previous quality improvement experience
