Job summary
The post holder will be clinically responsible for supporting the delivery of a flexible, responsive local service within the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). They will work collaboratively with colleagues, key partners and those within the local community to develop services to meet the mental health needs of the community.
The post holder will employ a wide range of skills, building on and developing their expertise and actively seeking advice and collaboration with issues which may not be readily within their sphere of competence. As a senior registered practitioner, they are professionally and legally accountable under the NMC code of professional practice.
Main duties of the job
The role of Lead Nurse includes supporting and managing a complex caseload, initial assessments, assessing risk, developing collaborative care plans, undertaking the role for duty worker, administering depot injects, attending CST meetings and working closely with our partners in health and social care.
As a Lead Nurse there is a requirement to support and develop Student Nurses and to supervise junior members of the team.
The successful candidates will receive regular clinical and managerial supervision, with access to professional development.
In the Older Peoples Division, development of knowledge and skills is actively encouraged, with training opportunities supported wherever possible.
