Job summary

Band 6 Radiographer - Night Shift General Imaging

We currently have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Radiographer to work in our out of hours general imaging team. This is a part time post, working during the evenings in a busy A+E environment.

Hours of duty o 15hrs per week over a 3 week shift rotation, with Agenda for Change terms and conditions.o Working hours fall between 4pm - midnight, Monday-Sunday.

As a Band 6 Radiographer you will be expected to manage your work area, providing professional clinical advice and support for Radiographers, Students and Assistant Practitioners under your supervision.

In the General Imaging team, you will work through different aspects of General Imaging such as Theatre and Mobiles, Accident and Emergency and Inpatients. The role is challenging but rewarding and your professional skills can make a real difference to our patients.

Main duties of the job

To determine and deliver the most appropriate imaging procedures to assist with the diagnosis and subsequent treatment of a wide range of patients and conditions. This will contribute to providing an efficient imaging service facilitating the optimal patient pathway.

Communicate complex critical details and information with referrers, clinicians, and other health professionals.

To evaluate and to take professional responsibility for the quality, accuracy, and adequacy of their own completed examinations and those performed by radiographers under their supervision.

Undertake and advise on a range of radiographic examinations procedures and protocols. This may lead to discussion and refusal of requests from doctors and emergency nurse practitioners using the IR(ME)R guidelines.

To provide professional clinical advice and support for radiographer's students and assistant practitioners.
