An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic midwife to lead one of our established Community midwifery families based in West Birmingham
We are looking for a highly motivated Band 6 midwife or existing Band 7 midwife with excellent organisational skills and experience of community based care.

You will work closely with the multidisciplinary teams to provide optimum care for women in the West Birmingham area.
You are required to work within the team to provide 24 hours on call services to meet the needs of women and families in line with a traditional on call system.

Main duties of the job
To hold on a 24 hour basis continuing responsibility as the professional and managerial lead for the team with responsibility for recruitment, deployment, supervision and development of staff, and be accountable for the quality of service provision in the designated geographical area/s. They will work autonomously within departmental/Trust guidelines and professional sphere of practice, also abiding by the Midwives rules and standards (NMC 05.04)
As a midwife, the post holder is responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes for a defined group of women. They will work with the multi disciplinary/agency groups involved in the provision of health and social care to childbearing women and their families to continually improve maternity care, being responsive to the needs of the women and obtain user views as appropriate.
