Job summary

We are looking for two enthusiastic Nursing Associates to join two of our friendly and supportive Wakefield CAMHS teams. You will need to be flexible and adaptable, having a commitment to improving service delivery and developing new ways of supporting intervention through engagement with children, young people, parents/carers.

We encourage applicants who have experience of working with children/young people with emotional and mental health needs.

The Core CAMHS team provide assessment and intervention to Children, adolescents and families. The team offer bespoke care plans to meet the needs of children and young people with numerous differing mental health needs and risk presentations. There is also a group work offer within the core intervention team for children and parents.

The Enhanced Outreach Team are a team that provide a mental health service to children and adolescents who are looked after or who present with some forensic behaviours in addition to a mental health need. The team provides assessment, consultation, intervention and specific therapies, care plans are bespoke and will involve liaison with the professional network around a child and families and carers if appropriate to do so.

At the interview you may specify which team you would prefer to work in. Please note the job description refers to a Nursing Associate role in a hospital and community setting, please note this is a community setting role.

Main duties of the job

The responsibilities of the Nursing Associate include:

Delivering psychoeducation sessions and intervention to children and young people on a 1:1 and group basis. This may include trauma informed interventions, graded exposure and emotional regulation work.

Delivering support and liaising with parents and carers

Supporting allocated workers with complex cases and offering additional visits to provide intervention and risk management.

Updating progress notes and supporting allocated workers with care plans and risk assessments.

Contributing to MDT discussions and Triage.

Supporting with group work development and delivery.
