About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Fellow in Cardiology at Mid Yorkshire Teaching Trust (MYTT) on a fixed term basis for 12 months.

This post will participate in the cross site senior trainee General Medicine Registrar On-Call rota. Applicants will have the same educational opportunities as other trainees and have protected SDT timetabled.

These posts are not recognised UK training posts. However, the post-holders will have a named supervisor and be supported in undertaking scheduled educational opportunities within the Trust and specialties. The Trust reserves the right to close this vacancy early should a significant number of applications be received. Main duties

The main duties of the post will include:

• Provision of care with responsibility for the management of patients with acute and chronic conditions including complex cases. • Referral of patients to other specialities as appropriate • Out-patient activities/clinics • Involvement in specialty and cross-specialty multi-disciplinary teams and meetings • Involvement in relevant administration duties • Teaching and supervision of junior medical staff and other clinicians as appropriate • Active involvement in audit and clinical governance including service improvement activities

Essential person specification requirements

To meet the requirements of this role, applicants must demonstrate the following essential criteria:

• Currently holds full GMC Registration with licence to practise OR is eligible for the same and obtained this prior to commencement
• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
• Either of the following:
• MRCP(UK) full diploma by the published deadline
• Eligibility for the specialist register in general internal medicine by time of application
• Completion of Irish Basic Specialty Training in medicine and the MRCPI full diploma by time of application
• ATLS,ALS,APLS or PALS certification
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• Have evidence of achievement of foundation competences from a UKFPO-affiliated foundation programme or equivalent, by time of application in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice
• Have evidence of achievement of Internal Medicine Stage 1 capabilities, via one of the following methods:
• Current employment in a programme which leads to successful completion of Internal
• OR equivalent overseas service.
• Demonstrates intelligent and analytical approach to problem solving.
• Possesses good communication skills.
