Job summary
This role supports the delivery of a high-quality Learning and Development service across the Trust, contributing to the design, delivery and evaluation across the range of RRI training. Working closely with Training Leads and colleagues, the post holder will help ensure that training is well-planned, evidence-based and aligned with Trust policies, accreditation requirements and organisational priorities. They will play an active part in developing training materials, maintaining accurate records, and supporting staff and services to identify and meet learning needs. The role also involves representing RRI Training when required, engaging service users in shaping training, and contributing to continuous improvement across the Learning and Development function. Ongoing professional development and a commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism are essential.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will plan and deliver training sessions across the RRI portfolio, ensuring courses are well-organised, appropriately resourced and delivered to a high standard. In addition they will collect and analyse training data, record attendance, and produce reports to support audits and service evaluation. The role includes developing training materials, maintaining accreditation requirements, and ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date. Following guidance from the Trust RRI lead and Lead facilitator the post holder will liaise with wards and departments regarding bespoke training needs, provide guidance to colleagues involved in training delivery, and offer supervision where appropriate. They will help maintain a safe training environment, monitor equipment, and escalate any hazards. The role also involves representing RRI Training in meetings when required, supporting policy and procedure development, and engaging service users in the evaluation of training programmes. The post holder will be expected to manage their workload effectively within a busy training schedule and maintain professional standards at all times.

Essential
- oCurrent NMC registration as a Registered Nurse or Nursing Associate, or current AHP registration with appropriate experience
- oEvidence of relevant continuing professional development (CPD).
Desirable
- oRecognised teaching / facilitation qualification (PTTLS, AET Level 3 or equivalent) - must be held at appointment
- oAccreditation / qualification relevant to RRI delivery (e.g. RRN / BILD instructor / senior instructor or equivalent).
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
Essential
- oExperience delivering or facilitating training sessions or classes, including practical skills delivery.
- oSignificant experience / knowledge in managing violence and aggression and / or reducing restrictive intervention approaches (RRI).
- oAbility to deliver practical RRI skills safely, including demonstration and supervised practice, within course requirements.
- oAbility to provide day-to-day line management, including supervision, annual appraisal (PDR) and management of sickness absence / attendance in line with policy.
- oEffective verbal and written communication skills, including ability to explain, demonstrate and provide feedback
- oAbility to plan and manage workload around a delivery timetable across multiple sites.
- oIT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.

- oKnowledge of ESR and / or experience using training record systems for data entry and record maintenance.
