Job summary
To work as an integrated member of the multi-disciplinary team supporting service used (who have a primary diagnosis of Learning Disability, history of offending behaviours, and who may experience additional mental Health problems), delivering holistic care and support as part of the Forensic Pathway under the supervision of Registered Nurses.
If you don't already have a Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject, RDaSH are offering this post alongside the opportunity for you to complete a Level 3apprenticeship qualification [relevant to your role].
As an apprentice within RDaSH you will be given the opportunity to gain experience, learn work-related skills and obtain all the tools needed to thrive.
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. Around 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying. This leads to a nationally recognised qualification.
Whether you already work for us or are joining the Trust and NHS for the first time, apprenticeships can help you to develop the skills, knowledge and know-how in order to embark on a successful and fulfilling career within the health service.
Main duties of the job
Uphold the principles of Positive Behaviour Support in all aspects of patient care.
To participate in delivery of care plans, treatment programmes and training for service users (under direction of qualified staff).
The Service Users' personal information is always treated within the strictest of confidence. Any requests to disclose information must be relayed to qualified personnel.
To support service users at reviews, appointments or meetings.
To assist in promoting a healthy lifestyle, hygiene routines, and general appearance, whilst respecting the service user's choices and beliefs, promoting dignity, respect and privacy where necessary.
To protect the service users from any form of abuse, wither physical, psychological, financial, sexual or any instance of intimidation. Any suspected abuse to be brought to the attention of the Trust, by informing a qualified or senior member of staff.
Reporting of any untoward occurrences to the appropriate person.
To support other staff members with day to day duties, within your level of competence, providing you have the appropriate training, instructions or skills to undertake the duties.
