Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to join our well-established, experienced Clinical Education Team.

We are seeking to recruit a Clinical Education Trainer on a Full time, 12-month fixed term/secondment.

You must be highly motivated, have a keen interest in facilitating education programmes, have excellent communication skills and be able to work well as part of a team to help support our staff to be the best they can be. Our team support staff in both community and in-patient services across the geographical area of the Trust.

CWP's Clinical Education Team is a small but dynamic team, comprising facilitators who are Mental Health, Learning Disability and Adult Nurses in addition to Clinical Support Workers.

We deliver high quality and innovative education programmes, whilst ensuring the learning environment is a welcoming space, to support staff to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours to deliver high quality care to people who access our services. Therefore, understanding and experience in all elements of training including developing, facilitating, delivering and evaluating education and training programmes is an important aspect of this role.

Main duties of the job

You will need a sound knowledge of current legislation, particularly the MHA Code of Practice, the Mental Health Units (Use of Force) Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Trauma Informed and person-centred care.

As part of our Proactive Approach Training (PAT) course, you will be required to teach physical (restraint) skills.

Other core subjects include Basic Life Support, the Skills For Health Care Certificate programme, Conflict Resolution/Breakaways in addition to many other non-mandatory clinical training programmes.

  • Registered Nurse or professional equivalent
  • 1st Degree level or working towards Degree (or equivalent)
