Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist within our Specialty Medicine therapy team at Worcester Royal Hospital to cover maternity leave.
Our Band 6 Senior Occupational Therapists play a crucial role in our organisation. They are viewed within the Therapy service as potential clinical leaders who will receive investment and support to become the best clinicians they can. You will work as part of an integrated therapy team to provide OT assessment and treatment for a variety of patients situated on our medical wards, as well as provide support and training to newly qualified therapists, therapy support workers and students.
You will also be working with and supported by a very experienced skilled workforce. These include our Therapy Service Leads and Clinical Specialists within our integrated Therapy service. Our service also has a Clinical Practice & Education Lead who works with our Band 6 clinicians, in developing robust training and development.
Main duties of the job
Acute management of multiple conditions; moving & handling; extensive equipment knowledge & provision; cognitive assessment; occupational performance; palliative & end of life care.
We are currently in process with an exciting AHP integration project within the Integrated Care System (ICS) aimed at streamlining and enhancing the roles of Allied Health Professionals across urgent and community care pathways. As this progresses, it has the potential to significantly reshape the structure and delivery of our AHP services. In the spirit of transparency, we want to ensure all applicants are aware of this ongoing project and it's potential impact.
