Is making a difference what drives you most? Is doing the right thing important to you? Are you reliable, hardworking, and committed to excellence?
If this sounds like you, and you value the responsibility and accountability of being a midwife, we'd love to hear from you.
We are seeking dedicated Newly Qualified Midwives who are passionate and have a long term investment in providing continuity of care; particularly from the outset of their career. You will provide personalised, relationship-based care to
women, birthing people, and families throughout pregnancy, birth, and the
postnatal period.
Please note this is a fixed term 12 month opportunity.
Band 5 Midwives: NQM's, third year students due to qualify in
Autumn 2025, and experienced Band 5's joining our adapted preceptorship
programme are welcome. You'll benefit from a specific continuity structured
preceptorship led by a dedicated lead and supportive continuity team leaders, building your confidence, knowledge and integration into practice. This programme is highly regarded,
key to improving midwife retention, and provides excellent foundation for
progression to Band 6.
You will join a small integrated
approachable team that values personalised care, teamwork and growth. Our
commitment was reflected in our recent CQC inspection, where maternity services
were ratedGood.
If numerous applications are received, an assessment centre may be held before a two-phase interview process to select the most suitable candidate.
Main duties of the job
As a dedicated midwife, your main duties will revolve around providing safe, clinically effective and individualised care to women and birthing people throughout their pregnancy journey.
This role offers the opportunity to build meaningful
relationships, support positive birth experiences, and make a genuine impact on
the health and wellbeing of our community. Working within a multidisciplinary
team, you will deliver safe, high-quality, and compassionate care.
We are committed to the national maternity agenda and also have an impressive home birth record.
Youll work flexibly across antenatal, intrapartum, and
postnatal settings (inpatient/community) with a defined caseload, ensuring
seamless continuity for those in your care. Excellent communication, clinical
confidence, and a passion for promoting choice are essential.
In return, we offer a nurturing environment, professional
development opportunities, and the chance to be part of a team that truly
values your skills and commitment to exceptional maternity care.
When working in one of our established teams, you will have time to complete antenatal and postnatal visits for the caseload under your care, and other times where you will be available to care for women in labour (hospital, birth centre and home). You and your team write your own rota, decide on annual
leave and support each other in weekly team meetings. This allows you to gain
transferrable skills such as time management, managing your own caseload and
team working.
