Rotational Midwife (Band 5)

The closing date is 27 November 2025

Job summary

Is making a difference what drives you most? Is doing the right thing important to you? Are you reliable, hardworking, and committed to excellence?

If this sounds like you, and you value the responsibility and accountability of being a midwife, we'd love to hear from you.

We are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate midwives to join our maternity service.

This advert is specifically for Newly Qualified Midwives who are eligible for preceptorship.

Band 5 Midwives: NQMs, third-year students due to qualify in Autumn 2025, and experienced Band 5's joining our adapted preceptorship are welcome. You'll benefit from a structured, individualised preceptorship supported by a dedicated lead, helping you build confidence, knowledge, and integration. This highly regarded programme improves midwife retention and provides an excellent foundation for progression to Band 6.

The rotational model covers all areas including Delivery Suite, Antenatal Ward, Postnatal Ward, and Community. This ensures a sound foundation, helping you become a confident and competent practitioner.

You'll join an approachable team that values personalised care, teamwork and growth. Our commitment was reflected in our recent CQC inspection, where maternity services were rated Good.

If numerous applications are received, an assessment centre may be held before a two-phase interview process to select the most suitable candidate.

Main duties of the job

As a dedicated midwife, your main duties will revolve around providing safe, clinically effective and individualised care to women and birthing people throughout their pregnancy journey.

Working collaboratively as part of a dynamic team, you will be involved in all areas of the maternity services.

By staying up to date with advancements in midwifery care and embracing evidence-based practices, you will contribute to the continuous improvements of our services. Your dedication to providing compassionate care and your commitment to ongoing professional development will make a significant impact on the lives of the families within the Worcestershire area.

For more detail about the main duties of this role, please see the job description section below.

Join our team of passionate midwives and embark on a fulfilling career where you can make a real difference. Apply now and be part of a supportive environment that values your expertise and encourages growth as an autonomous practitioner.
