Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Orthodontic Technician to join our Maxillofacial and Dental Laboratory team. Working both independently and as part of a team, you will be supporting our orthodontic clinical staff in providing high quality, complex orthodontic appliances. The role requires a flexible approach to working as the Trust operates orthodontic services from two hospital sites.
Main duties of the job
The post
holders prime responsibility will be the provision of orthodontic appliances and
associated dental technology services for the Department of Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgery and Orthodontics, and other contracted agencies, for
Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.
The post holder
will be expected to manufacture and maintain a broad range of complex custom
made orthodontic appliances; to include specialised functional, fixed and
removable appliances and same day retainers.
The post holder
should be highly motivated with good communication skills to liaise with clinical
and laboratory staff in the design and manufacture of appliances and maintain
laboratory records complying with the latest Medical Devices Regulations. The
post holder should be able to plan and prioritise their own work.
