An exciting opportunity has arisen for Midwives to join the Community Midwifery team at Stockport NHSFT. We are an established Midwifery team working together with partnership services, across the four localities of Stockport, High Peak for the benefit of women and their families.

We are committed to the continual professional development of midwives within our Trust and run an innovative and well -structured training programme that supports and enhances midwifery skills to project the most recent evidence -based care. We also currently offer a variety of external courses to assist with ongoing continual professional development that pique the interest of midwives including: Aromatherapy, Biomechanics of birth, Maternity critical care, Professional Midwifery Advocates (PMA), Physiological breech birth, Hypnotherapy and many more. We support the wellbeing of staff through the establishment and dedication of a Professional Midwifery Advocacy Service and the additional benefits listed below.

The successful post-holder will work in the community midwifery setting, providing midwifery care to women throughout the continuum of pregnancy and the postnatal period, providing continuity of care and being the lead professional for low-risk women and within a MDT team for women with complexities. Evidence of continual professional development and previous intra-partum experience enabling skills that support birth in high and low risk environments would be essential for this role. Community experience including knowledge of safeguarding procedures and caring for vulnerable families would be advantageous.
