Job summary

Part time position - 20 hours a week for a Healthcare Assistant within the Endoscopy Department. The position will involve direct clinical support to the nurses and patients, assisting with procedures in the endoscopy rooms.

This post is fixed term for 6 months which will then be on a monthly rolling basis.

Main duties of the job

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team, under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Under supervision of a registered nurse assist with patient care activities including recording of observations pre, peri and post procedures.
  • To carry out any tasks required to maintain the safety, cleanliness and tidiness of the admission area/procedure rooms/recovery area.
  • To communicate effectively when giving/receiving verbal and written information.
  • To actively contribute to the efficient management of clinical resources, including ordering/monitoring of supplies.
  • Use of physical effort to carry out the demands of the job role (e.g. pushing and pulling trolleys/wheelchairs, supporting patients during walking, moving of patients notes).
  • To support new or less experienced work colleagues to adapt to the workplace.
