Ward 9, Leicester Royal Infirmary
We are seeking for an enthusiastic, flexible, and motivated Band 3 Clinical Aide our Team.
Ward 9 is a part of the MSKSS and we are looking after patients from ENT, Maxilo-Facial, Plastics and Opthalmology. Ward 9 is a 17 bed unit and a Triage area in which we see patients fast tracked from the Emergency Department or referred by GP Surgeries.
Phlebotomy and ECG skills are essential for the role. Cannulation and venepuncture skills would be desirable but full training will be given to the successful candidate along with Patient Centre training. You will need to have completed a Care Certificate and have significant Health Care Assistant experience in a hospital environment.Excellent communication skills and demonstration of team work is essential for this position, as you willbe liaising with patients, family/carers and members of the wider multi-disciplinary team.
Working as part of a busy team, the successful candidate will also be responsible for completing a wide range of tasks including swab taking, stock replenishing, maintaining the area clean and safe and cleaning of Rhyno-Laryngo scope.
The successful candidate will have the ability to work autonomously, plan a daily workload and be an integral part of the Ward 9. You will be line managed by the Ward 9 Ward Sister and the team of Deputy Sisters.
Ward 9 and Triage area are open 24/7 and you will be expected to work 37.5 hours each week.
Main duties of the job
Provide clinical and non-clinical support to the multi-professional team under the direction of an appropriate registered health care professional.
Deliver direct and indirect care as delegated under the direction and supervision of an appropriate registered health care professional.
Support the delivery of effective health care to patients/service users by undertaking duties as identified by the multi- professional team.
Undertake specified and unsupervised aspects of care and therapeutic intervention as delegated by the registered health care professional within an agreed protocol, sphere of responsibility and after completing appropriate competency- based training agreed by the Trust.
