Job summary

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nursing Associate for 12 month fixed term maternity cover to join our Neighbourhood Mental Health Team in Bognor Regis, delivering care to people who access secondary mental health services.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Arun Neighbourhood Mental Health Team (Bognor site), we are seeking to recruit a Registered Nursing Associate to join our team to support our Clozapine and Depot Clinic's as well as offering physical health checks to patients with a Serious Mental Illness for a 12 month fixed term contract.

We ensure every patient has an individual care plan, receives regular support including medical reviews and physical health monitoring. You will have an opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and work closely with our Nurses, Psychiatrists, Community Pharmacist Community. We need someone who can work independently with appropriate supervision and is interested in working in a community setting with patients with complex mental health needs.

The ability to travel across sites and to undertake community visits will be essential to this role.

  • Educated to a minimum level 5 Foundation degree level specific to nursing associate practice

  • Previous experience of working within a healthcare setting either paid or voluntary
  • Understanding of the scope of the role of the nursing associate in context of the team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development

  • Lived experience of mental health issues

  • Ability to work effectively as a team player under appropriate supervision, and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to communicate with members of the public and health and care providers
  • Courteous, respectful and helpful at all times
