Job summary
We are building a new hospital in Bexhill to replace our inpatient services at the Department of Psychiatry. This means that, if you are successful in your application, you will be asked to transfer to the new facilities when it opens in 2026. The temporary base until the new Hospital opens, will be Dept of Psychiatry, Eastbourne DGH, Kings Drive, Eastbourne, East Sussex BN21 2UD
This is an exciting opportunity to join a Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust Admin Team. We are looking for an enthusiastic motivated person with excellent communication and organisational skills to currently work on Heathfield Ward at the Department of Psychiatry, Eastbourne District General Hospital. This is an 18-bedded all-female integrated functional acute mental health ward providing care for predominantly older aged adults.
The successful candidate must have a good standard of secondary education, strong admin organisational skills, have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, and had experience of dealing with cash along with a good understanding of confidentiality.
Working hours are Monday to Friday 08.00 - 16.00 - 37 1/2 hours per week
Main duties of the job
In addition to regular admin duties, this role will be crucial in delivering very high standards of record-keeping by carrying out weekly Carenotes audits (sometimes twice weekly), weekly Mental Health Act Audits and monthly NEWS audits (National Early Warning Score) regarding physical care. This will ensure the ward meets CQC standards. The post will also offer admin support to the ECT Clinic, main Reception and cover for the Welfare/Cash Office which provides Finance/Welfare assistance tostaff, patients, and relatives,controlling, recording and receipting patients' property.
The successful applicant must beself-motivated, adaptable and able to workon your own initiative as well as part of a multidisciplinary team. Effective communication skills and a commitment to caring must be demonstrated. You will require
