Consultant and Network Medical Director
Central & West Locality

We are looking for a talented clinician and leader who will be responsible as part of a triumvirate of leaders, in delivering safe and effective services in the locality. The triumvirate will be made up of a Network Director of Nursing and a Network Director of Operations. We wish to employ a substantive consultant with 6 PAs dedicated to the NMD role and further clinical sessions up to full-time.
Main duties of the job
This role has two elements. As a Consultant, your clinical role would involve 4 PAs in total, combining Direct Clinical Care with SPA time. The specific clinical role/vacancy would be discussed at interview. Our Trust predominantly provides mental health services (Psychiatry) and some physical health services.
The Network Medical Director role would involve 6 PAs in total. Our Trust predominantly provides mental health services (Psychiatry) and some physical health services.
The post holder will lead and manage services at network level and will be jointly responsible and accountable for:
- The medical leadership and performance within the Network
- The delivery of quality services around the core dimensions of safety, effectiveness and patient experience.
- The development of strategic plans in line with overall Trust strategy.
- The performance management of all services in line with local and national performance targets and standards.
- Ensuring clinical engagement, taking responsibility for good governance, safety and risk management.
- Taking a commercial and business approach to services which recognises and adapts to the needs of our customers.
- Providing leadership, support and advice to their leadership teams, managers and staff.
