You will advance your clinical expertise and leadership skills working. You'll have access to an array of internal and external training, including our leadership courses. Use your acquired skills to direct one of our multi-sited dietetic working groups in the progress of clinical policies; a preceptorship pathway; pre-registration placements, research projects; electronic outcomes; or health and wellbeing initiatives.

Main duties of the job

You will guide a team of gastroenterology and surgery dietitians to provide a high quality and safe dietetic service to acute wards & OP services. Experience of clinical governance activities will enable you to monitor effectiveness, support staff development, improve patient experience and manage risk.

With advanced clinical reasoning and using current evidence you and your team will provide expert dietetic practice in nutrition support and deliver dietary education to individuals diagnosed with gastroenterology and surgical conditions including inflammatory bowel disease, coeliac disease, functional bowel disease, cancer, ileus, stomas and fistulas.

Have a recognised dietetics degree or equivalent & registered with the HCPC; you'll assess the nutritional condition of patients, make dietetic diagnoses, give therapeutic treatment options, & provide evidenced-based advice. As the consistent practitioner, you'll review outcomes, & adapt care plans to facilitate patient centred goals.Always ensuring medical, psychological, social, environmental & cultural needs are considered.

Your enhanced communication skills will produce records achieving national standards & local policy.An empathetic clinician you'll build rapport & show compassion in difficult situations. You'll deliver local & national education programmes, developing your virtual and direct presentation skills.
