Job summary
We are looking to recruit a band 6 ICU skilled nurse to work as PBE supporting the development of staff working within this area on the Burns Unit. The post holder would be part of a team providing senior leadership within this specialist service on a day to day basis, using specialist skills and knowledge to support the development and knowledge of ICU skilled staff and rotating into ICU.Act as a mentor/preceptor to junior staff, with specific responsibility for pre-registration students. The post holder will take delegated responsibility for the management of the clinical team and the maintenance of high standards of quality patient care and working closely with the multi-disciplinary team in delivery of care to burns injured patients and their families.

We are looking for a qualified in speciality nurse with significant ICU experience at Band 5 or above within an intensive care unit and evidence of degree level study, with a passion for education and training working alongside other PBEs.
This post is pivotal within the nursing structure. You will have specialist clinical leadership and management skills and the knowledge to support the organisation in the delivery of the highest quality of care, supporting and teaching staff to become competent, autonomous practitioners.
This post will involve the provision of direct care and supportive educational packages to staff working across intensive, high dependency and ward burns care. By undertaking the role your work split between working clinically and as PBE.
