Job summary
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and flexible Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SN) who enjoys the challenge of working with children and young peopleYou will work from a variety of settings including schools, partner agencies and homes working flexibly and creatively to best engage and meet the diverse health needs of the 0-19 population, as part of the Eastleigh Public Health Nursing 5-19 service based at Moorgreen Hospital.You will lead the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme (DH 2009) within the locality and provide professional leadership to a skill mix team to enable the efficient and effective delivery of the commissioned service.We are looking for someone with an inspirational and motivational personality and someone who is highly skilled in communication, with a strong approach to teamwork.You will facilitate and deliver a range of assessments, brief interventions, proactive public health initiatives and work both independently and as part of a multi-agency team around the family. You will be expected to demonstrate clinical expertise and governance in all aspects of safeguarding children whilst being supported by robust organisational supervision, guidelines and policies.
Main duties of the job
The primary role of the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) is to lead delivery of the commissioned elements of the Healthy Child Programme (DH 2009) including the 0-19 (Health Visiting and School Nursing) High Impact Areas.The role includes providing clinical leadership and management support to Community Public Health Staff Nurses, Community Public Health Advisors, Community Public Health Assistants and Administrative Support staff to support the delivery of a quality 0-19 public health service
