Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our multi-professional team at the Northwest Regional Spinal Injuries Centre at Southport District General Hospital.
We are looking for a committed individual who would like to take on a challenge and help further develop the role of ward-based Housekeeper within the hospital setting. The ability to work alongside and support clinical staff with the day to day running of the ward environment is essential. Good communication skills and the ability to converse with all members of the multi-professional team are critical to the success of the role.
Previous experience of working in a Housekeeper type role is desirable although not essential as learning opportunities will be provided. Please note, this post is not part of the Domestic Services team and will be managed separately by the Ward Manager.

Main duties of the job
The ward-based Housekeeper role is a key part of the multi-professional team & vital in supporting the smooth running of the clinical areas. The role involves ensuring equipment is clean and working, ready for use and appropriate stock levels are maintained at point of care by carrying out regular stock checks and assisting the ordering process in a timely manner.
Stock rotation is vital in ensuring disposable items are used within the required time frame and new stock is ordered accordingly.
The role will also involve an element of cleaning and maintaining equipment used by ward-based staff i.e. patient monitors, and regularly carrying out equipment checks to ensure PAT testing has been completed.
