Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist (11 months - fixed term) to work in the speciality of Community Adolescent Forensic Mental Health based at Acklam Road Hospital but covering the whole of the Durham Tees Valley area.
The service provides forensic mental health consultation, assessment, treatment and psychological interventions to young people under the age of 18 years who present with high risk/high harm behaviours to others.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to support the team in the delivery of adolescent forensic mental health services; supporting the development of the service and contributing to the provision of excellent, accessible care.
The successful candidate will have a motivation to supporting young people and an ability to be flexible and adaptive to the changing demands of the service and our young people.
Main duties will include:
- Audit and evaluation of the service
- Data collection and analysis
- Indirect patient care
- Assisting in formulation and consultation
- Supporting assessment and intervention with young people
Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
