Main duties of the job

We are looking for an experienced Neuroradiographer to lead our MRI research service. The role would suit someone willing to take on a management role whilst continuing to scan. The department currently has a 1.5T GE Artist Scanner, two GE MR750 3T scanners and a 3T GE Premiere MRI Scanner. You will have the opportunity to expand your skills in MR Spectroscopy, functional MRI and diffusion imaging as well as performing a wide range of research and clinical structural MRI studies.

This is a management role and prior MRI research experience will be essential. Previous Neuroradiographic experience would be considered an advantage. We are a small unit and, although a management role, initially the focus will be on ensuring the successful candidate is fully familiar with the MRI scanning services we offer. The post holder will Support the Superintendent Radiographer in the operational management and supervision of the department, deputising for them when required.

The post holder will be a highly experienced radiographer, able to work autonomously within their specialist area, and accountable for their own professional actions. They will assess and manage their caseload, giving advice and guidance to patients and other health care professionals.

The post holder will assist in the timely, efficient, and cost-effective management and operation of the specialist imaging section. They will ensure provision of the highest standards of patient care, and contribute to the management of the Department. This person will be working closely within a multidisciplinary team, deputising for the Superintendent Radiographer in their absence.
