Band 9 - Predicted banding pending job matching
UHMBT has recently completed an extensive and detailed programme of work to establish a progressive, transformative though challenging financial strategy for the next 5 years designed to ensure our overall strategic response to deliver on our sustainability and improvement agendas over this period are aligned and targeted as required to ensure the best possible outcomes for the Trust, our workforce, and our patients.
We are looking to recruit an experienced finance professional to the role of Deputy Director of Finance Director to work alongside the Director of Finance in a leadership and developmental role. This role will be pivotal in leading, advising and influencing the finance team and operational leaders in the organisation on the financial sustainability agenda.
Our programmes of work are designed to ensure that our financial sustainability plan is delivered as part of our quality and safety improvement agenda rather than through separate processes and requires that we develop and deliver plans for best-in-class transformation and improvement in all areas. To do this we are committed to a clinically led programme of work, designed, and delivered with and through our teams, and through our commitment to integrated working and effective partnership working across our Integrated Care System.
Main duties of the job
This strategic and transformational change agenda must be built on a sound operating platform and control environment, and it is essential that our financial leadership, governance, and support arrangements are designed to meet these challenges and to deliver our 5-year financial strategy and overall, Trust improvement plan.
The Deputy Director of Finance will operationally lead the day to day finance function and support the Director of Finance & Chief Finance Officer in promoting this agenda and working in partnership to deliver this plan, in particular to:
Ensure that the Trust's approach to the development and delivery of strategic implementation plans is underpinned with consistent supportive, rigorous, and effective processes, including governance, assurance and risk management arrangements and that the Trust's delivery capability and context is embedded, consistent with our improvement and sustainability objectives.
To support and deliver the modernisation and transformation in financial leadership, management, and support within UHMBT and across the place-based partnership and ICS to drive best possible outcomes, including through the corporate collaboration agenda.
The successful candidate will have significant financial leadership experience, a track record of delivery of effective governance and improvement, and an inclusive approach based on strong personal commitment and a values-based approach to achieve better outcomes for our services, staff and patients.
