Due to the high performance of i-access over many years Surrey County Council and SABP have worked together to find a commissioning model that did not cause the damage and service disruption procurement processes can often result in. i-access is now jointly delivered by Surrey County Council and Surrey and Borders under a cooperation agreement. This is an ongoing agreement, which enables i-access to continue to deliver a quality service to Surrey residents without the disruption of an impending procurement process
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in a full-time role primarily as the Extended Brief Intervention Worker for the i-access team.
The successful candidate would be enthusiastic, committed to working with people with substance misuse problems and supporting them towards improving their health and wellbeing in their recovery from addiction. The role would consist of facilitating our Extended Brief Intervention Pathway focussing on individuals who have moderate alcohol problems. This role comprises of offering high quality interventions based on relapse prevention techniques in order to reduce service users alcohol use. Additional roles would involve, but are not limited to, facilitating groups/1:1 interventions for service users at different stages of their recovery journey for the wider i-access community teams. You will be joining an experienced and friendly multi-disciplinary team in a supportive working environment, with a visible and accessible management team who are committed to providing a high quality of service to our population. You can choose from the three bases - Guildford, Chertsey or Redhill but there may be requirements to cover our other bases across Surrey on occasion where needed.
