Our Cardiology department provides the ideal opportunity for talented nurses with a commitment to delivering a high standard of patient care. We are seeking an experienced cath lab nurse with a strong clinical background who is enthusiastic to join our cardiology team.
The nursing team rotate through the cardiac cath lab, recovery area and pre assessment clinic whilst supporting the overall needs of the service when required. We have a varied patient group, from elective day cases to emergency inpatients requiring devices such as pacemakers and Implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs). We are also very excited to say we are in the planning stage of expanding our services to incorporate the development of a further lab to enable us to run elective and emergency pacing lists simultaneously.
The elective service runs Monday to Friday and focuses on diagnostic angiography and electro-physiology procedures. The nurse will be asked to undertake the coordinator role to facilitate effective patient flow through the cath lab.
The nurse will proactively lead and engage in the education and development of staff within the Cardiology setting.

Main duties of the job
- To provide nursing care to a case load of patients and to provide verbal and written handovers to nursing colleagues and the multi-disciplinary team.
- Support the Ward Manager in her accountability for the management of staff and budgets.
- To provide nursing care to an advanced level.
