Job summary
Are you an experienced logistics, warehouse or supply chain leader looking for a role where your decisions genuinely matter?
Due to the reorganisation of the service, we are looking for a Pharmacy Stores & Logistics Manager to lead a large, complex, Trust wide medicines supply operation across the organisation. This is a high impact leadership role managing people, systems and stock, ensuring patients receive the right medicines, in the right place, at the right time -- every day.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast paced operational environment, enjoys leading large teams, and has a strong background in logistics, warehousing, retail supply or distribution, whether inside or outside the NHS.
Experience in pharmacy is not essential, as we are particularly keen to hear from candidates with strong logistics or warehouse management experience.
You'll bring:
- Significant experience leading teams in a warehouse, logistics, retail or supply environment
- Proven operational leadership in a busy, high volume service
- Strong understanding of health & safety, COSHH and operational compliance
- Confidence managing staffing, rotas, performance, sickness and change
- Excellent communication skills -- able to lead, influence and motivate
- A pragmatic, organised and solutions focused mindset
Main duties of the job
As the senior operational lead for Pharmacy Stores, you will:
- Lead and manage a large team of pharmacy assistants across two major hospital sites
- Oversee the pharmacy stores and distribution service, ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant supply of medicines
- Be the key decision maker for daily operations, staffing, stock control and service continuity
- Drive service improvement, efficiency and integration across pharmacy stores and clinical services
- Own and develop SOPs, processes and training programmes, ensuring compliance with safety, legal and professional standards
- Manage recruitment, performance, training, rotas and wellbeing of your teams
- Ensure effective stock control, condition monitoring, waste reduction and stock turnover
- Work closely with senior pharmacy and clinical leaders to meet performance targets and support patient care
About us
As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want to be sure that you can work in a way that is best for us and for our patients, and for you. Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement. If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you.
