Job summary
You will be working with the Head Chef and be responsible the effective and efficient day to day running of the food operation, production and dishwash areas. Also, responsible for the safety of the production of the food and frozen stuff, also ensuring that all duties are conducted in a safe hygiene and in a timely manner and that all HACCP and record check lists are maintained and complete other office duties to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role in a high volume kitchen, also qualified in food preparation to a City and Guilds 706/2 or NVQ 3, intermediate food Hygiene or level 4, have a ILM 3 qualification or the equivalent experience in a supervisory role, have a good knowledge and experience of a wide range of cooking methods and understand todays trends, have received listeria training and at least level 2 allergen training, also must have good knowledge of Microsoft applications.
As a Senior Supervisor you also must have good communication skills, be able to work under pressure, manage your time, liaise with catering staff, ward staff and patients. Set up meetings with relevant teams within the department and address their concerns and ideas.

Main duties of the job
Your main duties will include the following:
- Ensuring all departmental paperwork is signed and up to date.
- Working alongside the Deputy Manager and Head Cook, to ensure the smooth running of the department.
- Ensure staff are working in line with the department's HACCP file.
- Ensuring food meets the standards we require within the department.
- Completing HR paperwork with the aid of managers.
- Overseeing the staff rosters to ensure we have sufficient cover of staff.
- Understanding Departmental and Trust systems with training.
- Stock and waste Control.
- Conducting cleaning audits with the quality and control officer.
- Ensuring staff follow recipes, also checking allergens and monitoring staff work.
- Complete staff inductions, training, probations and appraisals.
- Help the management with recruitment selection.
- Working with others to improve the service.
- Dealing with patient complaints and resolving the issue to ensure patient satisfaction.
- Ensuring effective management for Pals, Place and CQC inspections.
