Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented individual to support the Business Manager to deliver the business functions of the Directorate.

The Business Manager focuses on enabling clinical and operational colleagues to deliver the Directorate's services as efficiently and effectively whilst transforming services, pathways, and ways of working.

Candidates will have experience of working to support a variety of services for families, children, and young people, and learning disabilities and autism, and will enjoy the challenge of working across a wide range of specialisms, fulfilling diverse duties.

Candidates may also be seeking an opportunity to broaden their experience and use transferable skills gained from across Health and Social Care and wider professions.

Candidates with experience of supporting the delivery of services with high quality and effective business management functions are highly valued.

The candidate should also have a passion for collaborative working, understanding the pressures of different roles within the NHS.

The Directorate emphasises nurturing our staff and growing our own through regular supervisions and appraisals, and opportunities for professional development.

The role is required 09:00-17:00, Mon-Fri, delivered via a mixture of office/home working (hybrid model). There is an expectation that the role will be visible across the Directorate, with presence in the office being required a minimum of 2 days a week, with Mondays being non-negotiable.

Main duties of the job

Expertise in the following areas and understanding their interface are essential:

  • Business planning and development
  • Estates and Facilities management
  • Health and Safety management and resolution
  • IM&T Prioritisation and facilitating delivery

The Business Manager role also includes supporting and leading EPRR planning, service and specification development, contracting compliance, business cases and development, and innovative thinking for improving productivity and accurate reporting and measuring.

Self-motivation and autonomous working are central to the role.

  • Good working knowledge of performance analysis, demand and capacity, and service efficiency modelling.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.

  • Experience at management level managing multi-disciplinary teams/departments with a track record of delivery.
