Urology Consultant in Endourology and General Urology

Job summary

The Urology Department at UCLH is seeking to appoint a Consultant Urologist to support delivery of care for patients under the care of the general urology and endo-urology services at UCLH. The successful candidate will have a commitment to high quality patient care, the delivery of performance targets and innovative service models as well as excellence in education and training. The post holder will work a fixed job plan of 10 PAs per week.

Main duties of the job

The appointee will have responsibility for patients under their care in the general urology and endo-urology services. This will include dedicated outpatient clinics and theatre lists, as well as close working relationships with the wider MDT in the department.

The urology department offers comprehensive care for the whole spectrum of Urology services and is split into 6 sub-groups, the teams work together closely along with other services such as gynaecology, women's health, assisted conception unit, oncology and the Uro-radiology.

Functional, reconstructive and adolescent urology and Neuro- Urology

Stones (including Lithotripsy)

Andrology

Uro-oncology

Essential

  • Eligible for full UK GMC Registration and possess FRCS (Urol) or equivalent
  • On GMC Specialist Register in relevant specialty, or at the time of interview within 6 months of expected date of CCT NB: Non UK trained doctors must be on the GMC register and Specialist Register in relevant specialty by date of interview.
  • Clinical knowledge commensurate with post CCT/ fellowship training
  • Knowledge of Clinical Governance framework of NHS
  • Completed PhD

Experience

Essential

  • Excellent clinical skills
  • Capacity to use and develop a wide range of theoretical approaches
  • Proven ability and commitment to carry out high quality research leading to publication.
  • Active involvement with scientific societies
