Consultant Neurophysiologist in Adult EMG

Job summary

As a consultant neurophysiologist you will be member of a team which provides the reporting of adult EMGs, for both outpatients and ward patients at UCLH

Main duties of the job

Your duties will include:

1. To run a clinic as per timetable. These are typically organised as one day a week (and with cross cover for leave with other EMG neurophysiologists).2. To be available during normal weekday office hours for consultations with neurologists, psychiatrists or neurosurgeons relating to inpatients in the hospital and to facilitate inpatient consultations on request.3. To report urgent EMGs within hours of the recording and provide written reports on the electronic health care record.

  • oMRCP, FRCPCH or equivalent
  • oCCT in Clinical Neurophysiology or Neurology or equivalent).
  • Full GMC Registration. NB: Non-UK trained doctors must be on the GMC register by date of appointment.
  • oNB: Non- UK trained doctors must be on the GMC register and Specialist register in relevant Specialty by the date of the interview.
  • oPhD or equivalent High-profile publications as first, lead or senior author
  • ounderstanding of current changes in the management and organisational structures of the NHS
  • oknowledge of Clinical Governance framework of NHS

Clinical Experience

  • oWide experience in clinical neurophysiology related to NCS and EMG
  • oExperience working in a multi-disciplinary team and understanding of the different roles.
