Locum Consultant Clinical Oncologist – Neuro-oncology and Lung

Job summary

This new 10 PA 12-month locum consultant clinical oncologist post will support the UCLH neuro-oncology and lung cancer teams in delivering specialist care for patients with brain tumours and lung malignancies.

The post-holder will work alongside the surgical teams at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, and contribute to multidisciplinary management of lung cancer patients.

Qualifications / Certification

Essential

  • Medical degree and completed General Professional Training, or equivalent
  • Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (or equivalent)
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register or be within 6 months of obtaining a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or equivalent, in an appropriate specialty at time of interview - exact start date will be discussed with the candidate at interview
  • Non-UK trained doctors must provide evidence at interview that they are eligible for full GMC registration and entry on the Specialist Register in Clinical Oncology
  • Fellow of Royal College of Radiologists or evidence of an equivalent level of qualification in Clinical/Radiation Oncology

Desirable

  • Higher academic degree e.g. MD or PhD (or in final stages of preparation), or evidence of an equivalent level of attainment in research publications

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of and commitment to multidisciplinary working
  • Wide experience in managing treatment and follow-up of patients with cancer
  • Experience of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels

Desirable

  • Clinical audit experience
  • Undertaken training as an educational supervisor
