Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitable candidate to join the Ultrasound team as an Apprentice Sonographer. The post offers the successful candidate the opportunity to train as a Sonographer whilst also working for the Trust under annex 30 T&C's at band 5 level. The training will be provided at Sheffield Hallam University and at completion will award a BSc (Hons) Medical Ultrasound. Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be working within the Ultrasound team and will be required to work across all hospital sites during their training.
We are a busy teaching hospital providing secondary and tertiary care.
The ultrasound department consists of a multi-disciplinary team who work closely together. We are a friendly, welcoming and inclusive group of people who enjoy working together. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to develop their ultrasound skills in a fast paced and pro active environment.
The post holder will report directly to the Ultrasound Team Managers and will be expected to meet the following criteria
- To provide high quality patient care.
- Commitment to learn and complete the required training for the degree award.
- Support the service as an assistant if required.
- Independent learning.
- 1 day per week supported learning time.
On completion of the course the successful candidate will be expected to offer a minimum of 2 years employment to the Trust. To progress to senior pay bands (band 7 and above) the candidate needs to be aware that they would be required to complete further post graduate training (PgCert).
Candidates must be willing and able to attend Sheffield Hallam University on a regular basis.
