Job summary

Job Summary Applications are invited for 1.0 WTE Band 8B post of Principal Clinical Scientist in the Radiotherapy Physic Section of the Dept. Medical Physics and Clinical Engineering, Leeds Cancer Centre, St Jamess University Hospital. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Principal Clinical Scientist in Radiotherapy Imaging to play a leading role in advancing imaging innovation within radiotherapy services. This is a senior leadership position combining clinical service delivery, research & innovation (R&I), and operational management, supporting the strategic direction of the Radiotherapy Imaging section while ensuring excellence in day-to-day service provision. The successful candidate will work closely with the Radiotherapy Physics Research Lead and Lead for Radiotherapy Imaging and Clinical Innovation to translate cutting-edge research into clinical practice and optimise patient treatment pathways.

Main duties of the job

Why you should join our Team The Leeds Cancer Centre is a major centre treating over 7800 new radiotherapy plans per annum. The centre is equipped with the latest technology, including 12 Elekta Linacs, 3 Philips CT-Sims, 1 Philips MR-Sim, VisionRT SGRT and the RayStation treatment planning system. The service also has a Flexitron HDR remote afterloading platform for advanced image guided brachytherapy, an I-125 prostate brachytherapy service and supports intracranial SRS on a Gamma Knife ICON. The Radiotherapy Imaging section is undergoing an exciting transformation with a strengthened leadership structure designed to support growth, innovation, and service sustainability.
