Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic CBT Psychotherapist or Clinical / Counselling Psychologist to join our service. You will lead and manage the provision of psychological therapy services to patients with long-term conditions i.e., diabetes, cardiac, and respiratory problems and our priority groups (BAME, YP and OA) Providing specialist LTC clinical supervision to all Wandsworth Talking Therapies clinical therapists and contribute to the strategic development of the integrated pathway. You should be a qualified CBT psychotherapist or Clinical/Counselling Psychologist with 2+ years post-qualification experience in delivering high-tensity therapies within a Talking Therapies Service. Experienced in working with clients who have long-term health conditions. Have strong leadership and management skills and have excellent clinical and communication skills.
Main duties of the job
You will be a key member of the Senior Management Team, including Duty Rota.
Lead the borough-wide implementation of a Long-Term Conditions (LTC) strategy and our key priority groups of BAME, OA and YP.
Support the integrated care pathways to ensure LTC patients are seen in a timely way.
Lead on the upskilling of staff in the service working with patients who have LTC.
Conduct audits to help improve service performance.
Work collaboratively with stakeholders.

Job responsibilities
To lead and manage the provision of a psychological therapy service to patients referred or self-referring to triage and Steps 3 interventions within the service.
To provide leadership and manage the provision of psychological assessment and treatment to patients presenting with long-term conditions, specifically Diabetes, Heart Disease, Respiratory Problems (e.g., COPD) and Post Covid & other physical health conditions.
To provide both triage and clinical supervision to other members of the team and where required other junior staff.
The LTC Lead will have responsibility for the smooth operation of assessments taking place in the Integrated Talking Therapies LTC pathway, being responsible for ensuring that referrals are contacted in a timely fashion, that LTC assessment and treatment protocols are adhered to, that appropriate decisions regarding stepped care are carried out smoothly and efficiently, and that all clinical and data sections on IAPTus are completed accurately.
To work proactively with other senior colleagues in the Wandsworth Talking Therapies service to develop, deliver and promote specific care pathways and service delivery for key priority population groups, including, but not limited to: BAME, Young People and Older Adult communities.
The postholder will be expected to work closely with the Service Manager to develop and manage the LTC and key priority population group element of the service.
Clinically, the postholder will provide specialist psychology services to patients referred to Wandsworth Talking Therapies. This will include providing specialist psychological assessment and therapy at Step 3 as well as offering advice and consultation on patients psychological care to other members of the Wandsworth Talking Therapies team.

- Experience of assessment and treatment of people with common mental health problems of varying severity and complexity, using evidence-based psychological therapies, particularly CBT.
- Experience in establishing DSM-V clinical diagnosis, and in clinical formulation.
- Ability to demonstrate further specialist training/experience in psychological therapy, through having received a minimum of 50 hours clinical supervision of working as a specialist clinical or counselling psychologist or CBT therapist over a minimum of 18 months
- Experience of working with clients presenting with long-term conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease and respiratory problems, within an talking therapies context
