Job summary

You will be a part of an integral multi-disciplinary team, working collaboratively with services locally and regionally to provide a high standard of patient care and ensure an excellent patient journey through our services and beyond. There will be opportunities to further develop your skills and complete the relevant courses to support with the smooth running of the department. The Ophthalmology Nursing team is a progressive force that operates across Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, including the main site and smaller clinics within the Trust and in Keats House in Bush Fair, Harlow.

Main duties of the job

To work as part of a multidisciplinary team assisting with patient care and other departmental-related duties as directed by Unit Manager, Clinician or Registered Nurse. To ensure kind, safe, and compassionate care for patients.

  • Work in a self-motivated and professional manner.
  • To work well with all disciplines of staff and may be required to take direction from other professional staff from time to time.
  • Required a courteous and helpful approach to patients and staff is essential.
  • A sensible, safe conscious approach to work is necessary at all times as well as strict observance of the Trust's policies and procedures.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) provides a full range of general acute, outpatient and diagnostic services at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, the Herts and Essex Hospital in Bishop's Stortford, and St Margaret's Hospital in Epping.
