Job summary
We currently have posts available in our busy and constantly evolving Outpatients Department and are looking for enthusiastic and motivated support workers/ Healthcare Assistants to work in our Outpatients Department.
The Departments within Outpatients offer a full range of outpatient care to the patients of the Western Eye Hospital. The Western provides a comprehensive range of general and specialist ophthalmic facilities and is equipped with some of the most advanced diagnostic and technical equipment currently available.
The Western Eye Hospital forms part of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in the heart of Paddington, an area which is set to become one of the capitals most attractive and vibrant centres.
In this role you will assist in providing the best possible care to patients with a wide range of ophthalmic conditions. You will have the opportunity to work in all the outpatient departments and there is scope to work in the other areas of the Hospital. You will develop skills in many of the diagnostic tests that our patients require.
To join us in providing our patients with the best possible experience and care, you must have good written and verbal communication skills and be able to work as part of a team.
All successful applicants will be expected to achieve the care certificate within 12 weeks of appointment. This does not apply to candidates applying within the trust.
Main duties of the job
- To provide under supervision, essential assistance and support to registered nurses in the delivery of direct patient care, ensuring that patient needs remain at the core of our care delivery approach.
- To be flexible in the approach to the clinical area and provide cover for any area as requested within the Western Eye Hospital.
