Job summary
Come and join us! This is a great opportunity to become part of our dynamic, friendly and forward-thinking, inclusive Physiotherapy Team working at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton and the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated Physiotherapist, who has experience at a Band 6 (or equivalent) level and is keen to further develop their clinical skills in the areas of:
- Medical
- Respiratory
- ITU and Surgery
- Cardiac
- Frailty
- Stroke
- Neuro Rehabilitation
- Major Trauma
- Orthopaedics - Trauma and elective
- Paediatrics
Clinical work will be underpinned by holistic, specialist clinical skills to provide comprehensive assessment and treatment of patients with complex needs to maintain and improve function to facilitate safe and timely discharges.
Main duties of the job
To provide advanced assessment and treatment for a range of highly complex patients within the physiotherapy service.
To supervise, teach and appraise Band 5 physiotherapists, technicians, assistants, students and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
To support the team lead with operational management.
To participate in CPD, IST, audit, evidence-based projects and service development projects which may include making recommendations for change in practice.
To participate in the development, planning and evaluation of related services across the Trust.
To participate in implementation of policy and changes in own clinical area, and to set and monitor standards of practice.
There is an expectation for out of hours working including respiratory weekend and overnight on-call; previous experience of this is essential.
To participate in future 7-day service provision when applicable.
Areas for rotation are subject to change according to service needs and developments.
To manage a significant clinical caseload and support clinical staff on a day-to-day basis, working with the Team Leads to ensure quality service delivery
