To provide front line assistance to all patients and relatives on arrival to the ( and Emergency Department (A&E) and Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) , ensuring registration documents detailing patient condition are provided accurately and swiftly and to alert any concerns to nursing staff.To provide an efficient and effective administrative reception service to the Emergency Department (A&E) and Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. on either site (Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton & Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath). You will be working as part of a team and will be expected to work variable day/Twilight and night shifts.
Main duties of the job
To provide an efficient administrative and reception service to the Emergency Department 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, working as part of a team expected to work shifts days/twilights and nights.
Provide front line assistance to all patients and relatives on arrival to the UTC and Emergency Department, ensuring registration documents detailing patient condition are provided accurately and swiftly and to alert any concerns to nursing staff, using good communication and inter-personal skills to interact with tact and diplomacy with relatives, patients and the multi-disciplinary team.
To ensure that patients are accurately registered on the A&E computer system and the Trust systems.
To ensure all aspects of reception administration tasks are completed in a timely manner.
To ensure all ambulance arrivals are processed in a timely manner ensuring accuracy of patient information.
