Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Trauma Nurse Coordinator to join our Urgent and Emergency Care Division at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. This is a pivotal role within our trauma service, providing expert clinical leadership, coordination, and support to ensure high-quality, patient-centred care across the trauma pathway.
You will act as a specialist point of contact for patients, families, and healthcare professionals, facilitating timely discharge, rehabilitation planning, and service improvement through audit, education, and research.
Main duties of the job
- Coordinate trauma care pathways, ensuring safe and effective patient journeys.
- Act as a lead specialist, providing expert advice and education to staff and patients.
- Support trauma governance, including audit, adverse incident management, and TARN data oversight.
- Lead and participate in service development, policy creation, and multidisciplinary meetings.
- Mentor and train staff, contributing to the development of trauma competencies across the Trust.
- Represent DBTH at regional trauma network meetings and contribute to national initiatives.
