Job summary

We are looking to recruit Community Nursery Nurses to our 0-19 teams in North Northamptonshire which cover the geographical areas of Wellingborough, East Northants, Kettering, Rothwell and Corby.

The 0-19 service aims to deliver the Healthy Child Programme universally to all children aged 0-19 and families living in Northamptonshire and/or registered with a Northamptonshire GP. We provide services in the community and in people's own homes. This starts antenatally and progresses through childhood at key developmental stages.

In addition we support families, children and young people with targeted interventions such as behaviour, toileting, sleep and emotional well-being.

Our service users are at the heart of our service delivery we aspire to deliver a truly co-produced 0-19 service by listening to the child's voice at all times and involve children and families in decision making. Our Nursery Nurses play a key role in the 0-19 locality teams, working with guidance from Health Visitors and School Nurses to deliver a variety of interventions and programmes.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is expected to support a range of service delivery including undertaking clinical activities and working in partnership with other professionals and agencies to ensure the effective delivery of services to babies, children young people and their families.

The post holder will be responsible for managing their workload and delivering interventions that support identified needs within the locality. This is achieved by working within local cluster areas that enable practitioners to have an enhanced knowledge of their local community and its public health needs.

A core requirement of this will be regular supervision and support from within the named Health Visitor/School Nurse caseload holder.
