Would you like to work in a highly regarded, nationally recognised, specialist service making a positive difference to people experiencing chronic/persistent fatigue?
We are seekingan autonomous healthcare professional to join this dynamic and friendly specialist team at atime when fatigue management remains high on the agenda following the Covid-19 pandemic and the recently published government's ME/CFS Delivery Plan.
You will be an experienced clinician who has an understanding of ME/CFS, Post COVID-19 condition (Long Covid) or fatigue management approaches and is enthusiastic about working in this specialist area.
This community-based service is integrated and in-reaches into the ME/CFS/Post Covid Assessment Clinic at the Churchill Hospital, providing a comprehensive and cohesive MDT, working closely with consultants in respiratory and rehabilitation medicine, specialist respiratory physiotherapists, psychologists and Oxfordshire Talking Therapies. We provide groups and 121 sessions through clinics, online and home visits.
The successful applicant willbe required to manage their own case load, providing clinical expertise for people with Post COVID-19 condition, Post Viral Fatigue and ME/CFS.
The service is based at Windrush House, Witney, but other bases could potentially be negotiated across Oxfordshire. However, as the service is countywide, some travel will be required.
Main duties of the job
- Providing comprehensive occupational therapy/physiotherapy assessments both in clinics, online or in the person's home.
- Incorporating a biopsychosocial approach to assessment and management.
- Delivering online educational workshops (on fatigue management approaches).
- Managing a caseload of patients with a focus on supporting individuals to develop self-management techniques.
- Working with other OT/PT within a MDT.
