An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Data Quality Team as a Data Quality Officer. The role of the Data Quality Team is to ensure robust processes are in place to deliver the highest level of accuracy with regard to data capture, data assignment and data validation.
The Data Quality Team sits within a wider department that includes the Contact Centre and Patient Access Team. The team consists of Data Quality Assistants, Data Quality Officers and Data Quality Facilitators working closely together to improve the quality of the data in the Trust across a number of digital systems.
Main duties of the job
The Data Quality Officer plays a critical role in supporting the Trust's data quality efforts by conducting comprehensive and robust waiting list validation. This role is vital in ensuring the accuracy of patient data, addressing errors in patient entries, and improving the quality of waiting list records. The officer will work closely with staff across the Trust to identify and correct discrepancies in waiting list data, ensuring that only true waiters remain on the waiting lists. The post holder will help to calculate true waiting figures and reduce wasted clinic slots, thereby optimizing resource use and improving patient care.
This role will be integral to supporting the Data Quality Team in working with services to 'get it right first time'. As a Data Quality Officer you will be working in clinical systems to identify, process and correct data quality issues. You will work with the data quality facilitators to implement processes to ensure that data is recorded accurately by clinical and administrative teams.
Waiting List Validation: Conduct a thorough and accurate waiting list validation process to ensure all patients on the Trust's waiting lists are genuine and their data is accurate.
Data Entry and Quality Assurance: Identify and correct errors or inaccuracies in waiting list entries caused by inconsistent data entry practices. This includes reviewing and validating patient details, such as referral dates, clinical priorities, and current waiting statuses.
