Job summary

We are seeking an undergraduate tutor to assist primarily with the running of the Clinical Experience in adults with Long Term conditions and elective Surgery (CELTS, formerly Advanced Clinical Experience) 4th year course. This person will continue developing, evaluating and delivering this important programme of learning. Locally they will work with our other undergraduate tutors and five clinical teaching fellows as well as supporting clinical teams to ensure that the curriculum is delivered to a high standard.

Main duties of the job

This post provides the opportunity to develop expertise in undergraduate medical teaching alongside clinical practice. The successful candidate will be supported and mentored by our team of undergraduate tutor module leads, lead medical clinical educator, pastoral lead and programme director. Development opportunities will be available depending on previous experience such as a place on the highly popular Postgraduate Diploma or Masters in Medical Education. The post holder will be registered as an honorary clinical lecturer with Newcastle University .They will be encouraged to attend educational training sessions both locally and in the North East where appropriate and to help mentor other clinical colleges as educators. Innovation is encouraged and supported and numerous previous teaching fellows and tutors have presented posters at recent national conferences.
